Set in the Staffordshire Moorlands, Hermitage Farm is a family run 75 acre mixed livestock working farm. Superbly positioned and enjoying probably some of the best views in Staffordshire overlooking the picturesque Churnet Valley - affectionately known as “Staffordshire’s Little Switzerland” and having SSSI status (Site of Special Scientific Interest).

After taking in the views why not explore the many a mile of great footpaths, walks or cycling we have right on your doorstep (secure storage for bicycles available). A pleasant stroll brings you to the village of Ipstones. Here you will find a local shop, post office, tearoom, butchers and several country pubs and a restaurant. Alternatively why not visit Froghall where you will discover Froghall Wharf, canal boat trips, historic lime kilns and the Churnet Valley Steam Railways main station and visitor centre and experience a 11 mile journey through Staffordshire’s hidden Valley.

We are just 10 minutes from Alton Towers and similar to the edge of the Peak District, Dovedale and the Manifold Valley. 25 minutes away is the city of Stoke on Trent with it's famous museums and potteries of Wedgwood, Doulton, Gladstone, Portmeirion and Spode. Waterworld is also around 25 minutes away as is the spa town of Buxton with it's many caves and caverns and fabulous Opera House. Ashbourne is within 20 minutes as too is Uttoxeter with its renowned racecourse and home of the massive JCB empire. We are also within easy access to many of the fantastic stately homes in the area for
example Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Shugborough Hall, Eyam Hall, Tissington Hall and Sudbury Hall.
If theme parks are part of your agenda Gullivers Kingdom at Matlock Bath and the American Adventure are within easy reach, along with Drayton Manor Park & Zoo.
