Hermitage Farm was once part of the Thomas Bolton Estate and has now been in the Barlow family for some 25 years. In 1985 Wilma Barlow commenced a Bed & Breakfast service and in 1992 a small barn was converted in to a self catering cottage sleeping up to 7 guests, the buisiness has developed with the help of her family into a thriving concern.   Looking after guests is an increasingly important part of the Barlows working life today.

Whether you require a Self Catering cottage or Bed and Breakfast accommodation we can guarantee that our position overlooking the Churnet Valley has to be one of the best the area can offer.

HERMITAGE FARMHOUSE
Nestled on the hillside our beautiful period farmhouse dates back to the 15^th Century.  Built from massive local pink sandstone, once quarried here on the farm.  This Grade II listed farmhouse has immense character, displaying its many original oak beams, oak panelling and genuine Olde Worlde Charm.

The farmhouse boasts a fabulous mahogany 4-poster en-suite room with breathtaking views of countryside down the valley along with a further 2 bedrooms.

We have a further 5 double/twin rooms and 6 family rooms, some available to take those with extended families of up to 6 persons.  All our bedrooms have en-suite facilities, tea/coffee-making facilities, colour TV.  All rooms overlook fabulous landscape that is all part and parcel of the picturesque Churnet Valley, steeped in
history and heritage.

Breakfast (full English, Vegetarian or a lighter continental style) would be served in the dining room.  As all our food is served freshly prepared there may be a short delay especially at busy periods.

Cots & highchairs are available at no cost however please bring your own cot linen.

All of our bedrooms are strictly Non Smoking, although there are smoking areas around the establishment.

SELF CATERING

Hermitage Lodge stands just below the farmhouse completing the courtyard effect. 

This beautiful stone built property is detached with oil central heating and decorated in cosy cottage style.  Outside is a paved area with garden furniture boasting breathtaking views over the valley, barbecue area and parking for 2 cars.
